For the fifth year, East Coast Petroleum has served
as the lead sponsor of the Christmas Party for the United Homes for Children.
United Homes, with main offices in Dorchester and Tewksbury, founded in 1972 as
a private, charitable non-profit organization, serves over 225 foster and
homeless children, ages 2 to 18, in either individual placement or group homes.
Most of these children are available for adoption and would like nothing more
than a permanent, good and loving home.
The children were treated to a visit at the Quincy
Elks Club Tirrell Room by Santa (Jim Caparelli) and The Hearts and Noses Clown
Troupe of Brookline. All children received a hot meal as well as toys and
filled school backpacks from a variety of sponsors. They danced and sang to
music by provided by DJ, Victor Jordan.
Other sponsors and providers included: Quincy Center
for Technical Education Culinary Arts Department, Toys for Tots, Barrett's
Catering, DiBella's Pizza and Subs, Lopez the Florist, Living Silks by John
Morton, Brush Hill Transportation's Bean Town Trolleys, Konditor Meister
Bakery, Roche Bros. Supermarket, Phillip's Candy House, Lisa Baldassari and
Maryann Bagnoli for Bruins and Disney on Ice tickets and press and publicity by
Bernice Mader's Red Tape Limited.
Backpacks were stuffed with items provided by: Old
Colony YMCA, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Brockton Hospital, Bugaboo Creek
Steakhouse, Irving Oil Terminals, Health Services Administrators and Minuteman
