Our home heating oil:
- Meets all standards of the ASTM US Environmental Protection Act
- Is a low sulfur, clean-burning grade is of the highest quality to help ensure that you are getting the most out of each gallon of oil
Bioheat and Biodiesel
Bioheat is the common name given to a blend of traditional petroleum-based home heating oil and a non petroleum-based fuel called biodiesel. Biodiesel is refined from a number of domestic resources such as recycled cooking oil, sunflower seeds, and soybeans. These sources are renewable, biodegradable and non-toxic, all of which help the environment and contribute to the “going green” effort. Using blends of traditional petroleum-based fuels and biodiesel will help provide a healthier and cleaner environment. Click here for more information on biodiesel.
In the near future, it is expected that the Commonwealth of Massachusetts will mandate that all home heating oil contain 2% biodiesel. It is anticipated that higher percentage mixtures will be required as time goes on. At the present time, biodiesel is available upon request.
We look forward to providing you with bioheat in the not too distant future!

Biodiesel can also be blended with petroleum-based diesel fuel to create a biodiesel blend which can be used in some diesel engines without modification. This can provide an environmental benefit due to the reduction in emissions of several undesirable exhaust components. While some specially designed vehicles can safely use biodiesel in its pure form (known as B100), it is typically blended with in a 20% biodiesel/80% petroleum diesel mix (known as B20) which can be safely burned in most unmodified diesel engines.
