Automatic Delivery

Automatic delivery is available for those customers who don’t want to worry about monitoring their oil tanks or calling us when they are running low. Customers on automatic delivery receive their deliveries based on a schedule that we provide. This schedule is determined using a sophisticated computer modeling program (referred to as degree days) that incorporates many parameters including your oil tank size; the age, number of rooms and square footage of your home or business; past consumption rate; whether nor not your hot water needs are fueled by oil; and the day-to-day outside temperature and expected temperature trends. The bottom line is that automatic delivery is your worry free way to ensure that you always have the oil you need when you need it! In the rare event that a “run-out” occurs, you will receive a priority delivery and your system will be re-started when the delivery is made at no charge to you.

Will Call Delivery

“Will call” delivery means that customers are responsible for monitoring the level of their oil tank and calling in to schedule delivery when the oil is low. It is imperative that you provide enough lead time (typically 48 hours) for us to make the delivery. A good rule of thumb is to call when the level of your tank reads about ¼ full. Note that if you are on will call that we are NOT responsible for “run-outs” due to your failure to call or to provide enough lead time for delivery. Please note that in a “run-out situation,” the system will usually need to be primed in order to start. This is a service that we provide at an additional fee.

Please understand that with a Will Call delivery, we need at least 48 hours notice before we can deliver your oil. There are several reasons for this. Our deliveries are made based on planned routes that vary based on need, demand, truck capacity and the need for efficient delivery routes. Very likely at the time you call we are not scheduled to deliver in your area within the next few days. Your order results in us picking up the appropriate gallons for your delivery and getting that into a truck scheduled for your area. Please note, however, that in an extreme emergency, we do try to accommodate every customer’s needs.

C.O.D. Delivery

COD or “Cash On Delivery” is available for customers who want to pay for a delivery at the time the delivery is made; there is a discount associated with this delivery type. As such, the customer MUST be at home when the delivery is made and provide an acceptable payment (cash or money order) BEFORE the delivery is made. If the driver shows up and no payment is available, he will not deliver the oil. The only exception to the need to be present at the time of delivery would be if payment has been made at least 1 day prior to delivery, either by dropping off the cash or money order at our office or by prepaying on an approved credit card.

Please understand that with on a COD delivery, we CANNOT give you a time of delivery. There are several reasons for this. Driver’s schedules vary not only day-to-day but in our peak times, minute-by-minute depending on the orders received and the need to establish efficient delivery routes. In addition our drivers may encounter increased wait times where we pick up our oil especially in the colder weather months. Finally, like anyone on the roads in New England in the winter, our drivers are constantly subjected to unexpected traffic and weather delays. This means that if your schedule does not allow you to be home for a COD delivery, but you want to use this delivery option, you must prepay which can be most conveniently done using a credit card.
